The Aventon Level ebike, a popular choice over the past two years, recently received an upgrade with the Level.2 model. The standout improvement is the replacement of the cadence sensor with a torque sensor, greatly enhancing the riding experience. In this review, we’ll explore what’s to love and what could be improved about the Aventon Level.2.
What’s new in the Aventon Level.2 compared to the original Level? The Level.2 boasts a torque sensor, integrated lights, a color display, Bluetooth app connectivity, and a range of color options.
What’s impressive about the Aventon Level.2? The torque sensor ensures a smoother pedal-assist experience with minimal delay or run-off when you stop pedaling. The color display offers interesting features like tracking calories burned, CO2 emissions saved, and trees preserved during your ride. It’s controlled via buttons on the handlebar. The Level.2 also features reliable Tektro hydraulic brakes, seamless weld marks, and a mobile app for ride tracking, social sharing, and finding local dealers. The bike includes aluminum fenders and a rear rack, with an integrated light into the rear fender.
Moreover, the Aventon Level.2 provides a traditional bike feel with geometry and gearing for easy pedaling even without pedal assist. The brake lights are seamlessly integrated into the frame and fender, enhancing safety.
However, there are some downsides. The display doesn’t remember the last pedal-assist level, and you can’t use the throttle in PAS 0. The front suspension is not suitable for heavy off-roading, and the bike has a relatively low water resistance rating at IPX4.
In summary, the Aventon Level.2 with its torque sensor, color display, integrated lights, and advanced features is a fantastic choice for those seeking a high-tech commuter ebike in 2022. While it has some minor limitations, it offers an excellent riding experience, aesthetics, and advanced technology at a reasonable price.
